You all might have the perception that India is a country that might have achieved the milestone of being 100% electrified. But what you see is not always the truth. There is always another side to the story. Though more significant parts of rural areas are benefited with electricity facilities, surprisingly, there is one village that received electricity after 71 years even having close to it the National Thermal Power Corporation near it.
Astound? Well, you would be more surprised to hear that this NTPC plant is just 5 Km away from the Dadri village in Haryana.
All thanks to the Saubhagya Yojna started by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was a few days back on 25th August 2018 that Dadri Village received got power up. A member of such household, Paale Singh(65) revealed that around 15 families have so far got benefited of power connections after the 1st transformer was set up in the village.
He further said that approximately 50 families used to reside in this village three decades ago. But then, people started looking for better living and shifted to other areas where they could get a good living. The residents who moved from the village had a lot of complaints regarding the robbery and other mischievous happenings which let them take such action.
Paale Singh told the media that even his son had to forcefully shift to other places for better living of his children. However, when they learned about solar light was fixed on the roads of the village.
His son Kallu portrayed the story to the media recalling how he had to travel to Nangla to charge the battery of their phone. Kallu
further stated that “it was a nightmare for all of us these years that just took a turn and lightened our lives.”
Now Paale Singh is one of the happiest persons in this village, as not only his family is along with him, but now he could live fear free.
He claimed that it was all due to the consistent efforts of other villagers who got this impossible thing done. “I am pleased as in the history of 100 years; this is the biggest achievements of my village,” he said.
It’s not only the proud moment for Dadri villagers but the entire country. People who had left their village a long time back have started returning and are actively applying for power connections in their homes.
India is already creating history, buy making the impossible things possible for the citizens. The government is taking all kind of measurements for the betterment of the country. From taking strict actions against rapists, creating portable washrooms to spreading the hope of homes for poverty line citizens, India is a way to progress towards the better and better.
This is just a few to describe the better is yet to come.
Not to end, even the film fraternities are giving their best bet to make the better India. The movies in the past few years such as Dangal based on the message that girls are equal, Toilet EK Prem Katha- for development of Shauchalya in villages are some of the inspirational movies that have won million hearts worldwide as well as given a big lesson for the country to learn.
Recently, there have been trailers running out on social media about Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer “Bati Gul Meter Chalu”. The movie is based on electricity issues in India and how an ordinary man (Shahid Kapoor) fights for his village to get the electricity.
Well, let’s see what impact does the movie leaves on the government and how it works harder for the betterment of the country and people living here.
